Sacred Noir collects almost nothing, and what it collects you handed over deliberately.

What is collected

One form exists on this site: the inquiry form on the contact page. It asks for a name, an email address, the nature of the inquiry, and a message. No other information is asked of you, and nothing about you is inferred. As with any request to any website, the technical particulars that carry it — your address on the network, your browser's description of itself, the time — are visible to the services below in the ordinary course of delivering the page and the message.

Why

To answer you. That is the whole of it.

Where it goes

Submissions pass through Netlify Forms — the form service belonging to the host that serves these pages — and are forwarded to a private mailbox read by the maker. Netlify holds a copy on our behalf under their own privacy policy. The typefaces on this site are served by Google Fonts, which receives your browser's request for them as any font host would.

A notification of your message travels a measured path before it is read: Netlify hands it to Amazon SES, which delivers it to the forwarding service at Namecheap that carries commissions@sacrednoir.com, which passes it to Google, where the mailbox is. Each of those handles the message in transit. They are named for the same reason Akismet is: a policy that lists only the first party in a chain is not a complete one.

Submissions are screened for automated abuse by Akismet, a service of Automattic, which necessarily reads what is submitted in order to judge it. It is named here because it is a third party that sees your message, and a policy that omitted it would be incomplete.

What is not done

This site carries no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels, and no third-party scripts beyond the font files named above. Nothing you send is sold, rented, traded, or used to assemble a profile. There is no mailing list, and you will not be placed on one.

Cookies

This site sets none.

Do Not Track

Nothing here tracks visitors, so a Do Not Track signal has nothing to switch off. Browsers that send one are treated exactly as browsers that do not.

How long it is kept

Correspondence is kept as long as it remains useful to the work it concerns, and no longer.

Your say in it

Write to commissions@sacrednoir.com and ask what is held, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be erased. It will be done, and you will be told when it has been.

Changes to this note

If the practice changes, this page changes with it, and the date below moves. There is no other notification; this page is the record.
